Following a shaky, if not reluctant 2-1 win on the road against the Chicago Fire, the five stripes now lead the MLS race for the Supporters Shield and are atop the Eastern Conference. With a game that saw the first MLS goal from Ezequiel Barco and Josef Martinez now leading the league in goals scored, there was plenty to talk about. Despite Chicago’s best efforts, the 5 stripes move on to its toughest stretch yet as it returns to Atlanta to host the leader of the Western Conference in Sporting KC, and then Sunday on the road against the Lions of Orlando City, which is coming off of a team best 6 consecutive wins.
